Door Prizes

Tal spent the last several evenings updating the door hardware in our house. On all 10 of our doors, he replaced the brass doorknobs, rusty hinges, and 22 year-old lip strikes...

...with stainless steel.

Replacing the hardware is a small change that makes a significant impact in updating our house and making it feel more contemporary. We love the results!

Pool Party

On these hot summer days, Savannah loves cooling off in her pool! She enjoys talking to the passing dogs, playing with the hose, and getting her hair wet.

17 Months Old!

I'll be 17 months old this week!

I like to sit in a laundry basket...

...or in my toy box.

Sometimes I wear my princess tiara.

Within the last couple weeks, I've started
throwing and playing with balls.

I love opening and closing the
gate to our backyard.

I like reading with Daddy and Mommy.

I've learned to walk really fast.
Sometimes it looks like I'm running!

I'm learning to recognize letters.
I can point to each letter in a word.

I like talking to the dogs
and birds outside.

I love hiding and playing
peek-a-boo.

I'm really good at taking off
my shoes, but I'm still learning
how to put them on.

I've started talking during the last couple weeks!

I can say these words very clearly:
"Mommy"
"Daddy"
"Bubbles"
"Ball"
"Oh"
"Uh-oh"
"Ow"
"Buh-bye"
"Wow"

Although I can't say "hello," "outside," or "dog"
very clearly yet, Mommy and Daddy still understand
what I'm trying to say.

Mommy and Daddy love hearing the sound of my voice!
(P.S. Now I have 10 teeth--6 on top, 4 on the bottom.)

A Shore Thing

Our 4th of July weekend in Salter Path was filled with sun, sand, and water. On Friday and Sunday, we watched the boats and birds in Bogue Sound:

On Saturday morning, we walked to the beach behind Grandma Barbara's house:

Savannah had fun playing with the sand and shells on the beach:

Savannah was a bit scared when Tal dipped her in the ocean for a second, but she was a good sport. :-)

Savannah's First Haircut!

Last 4th of July, Savannah ate solids (rice cereal) for the first time AND took her first dip in the ocean while we were in Salter Path.

This 4th of July, Savannah, who is almost 17 months old, got her first haircut! Taffy, a family friend, snipped off some of Savannah's long, straggly pieces and gave her an adorable bob hairstyle (which shows off Savannah's curls in the back).

During the entire experience, Savannah did a great job sitting on Grandma Barbara's lap. She didn't fuss a bit!
