Mommy's Lil' Pumpkin

Last Saturday, Savannah and I went to the pumpkin farm with our friends Emily and Xavier.

We had a wonderful time visiting Cotton the bunny...

...sitting on the haystacks...

...taking corn off the cob...

...feeding the goat some corn from our hands...

...playing in the corn crib...

...taking a hayride around the farm...

...and picking out a pumpkin to take home.

Savannah is sitting on the pumpkin we took home! :-)

Fair Play

Today our family, including Grandma Barbara, went to the NC State Fair. The fair is one of our favorite annual events!

For weeks, we've been dreaming about eating steak sandwiches, deep fried pecan pie, and funnel cakes.

This year all of us tried the newest food at the fair--the Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger. It's a cheeseburger sandwiched between two donuts.

Although the Krispy Kreme cheeseburger was a pretty tasty sweet and salty combination, the deep fried pecan pie remains our favorite fair food.

Also, we were really excited that Savannah rode three rides this year! On the first ride, Tal and Savannah rode up and down and around in a car:

On the next ride, Grandma Barbara and Savannah rode on some rough terrain on an ATV. You can barely see Savannah's head above the dashboard!

Then, Tal and Savannah slid down the giant slide. The picture below shows Tal carrying Savannah AND the slide up many stairs to the top:

Savannah seemed a little scared when she and Tal flew down the slide. When it was all done, though, Savannah kept smiling and saying, "Whee! Whee!"

Another highlight of the day was having Savannah weighed at the fair. Below is a picture of Savannah on the scale last year. She was 8 months old and weighed 19.6 lbs.

Today our 20-month old Savannah weighed 26.1 lbs. I'm amazed by how much Savannah has grown when I look at her fair pictures from last year and this year!

Ran Fans

Tal and I are fans of country singer Miranda Lambert. On Thursday night, we saw her in concert at a local minor league baseball stadium.

Tal and I really enjoyed spending the evening together and celebrating Tal's birthday, which was on October 3.

Tal and I were impressed by how well Miranda sang. Miranda performed some of our favorites, as well as several cover songs and new tunes from her CD.

20 Months Old!

I'll be 20 months old this week!

I like to "wa-wa" (draw).

I like to play in the back of Daddy's truck.

I use a spoon to feed myself an entire bowl
of cereal or applesauce.

I like to sit in a big chair sometimes.
Mommy and Daddy think I'm really cute when
I roar like a lion...
...baa like a sheep...

...moo like a cow...

...or woof like a dog.

I talk and babble A LOT!

I can say around 45 words.

I learned to say my first color word:
yellow.

I can even point to a duck and say:
"duck, wellow" (yellow).

During the last month, I've learned to say these words:

"peas" (please)

"dank you" (thank you)

keys

baby

cheese

tea

teeth

shoes

"wellow" (yellow)

trash

yucky

glasses

socks

spoon

apple
