Our curb appeal is improving! Here's a current view of our house from the street:
On Thursday, Tal planted 2 purple bougainvilleas in the urns next to our front steps:
Why didn't we put bushes next to our front steps? Well, there are sprinkler heads on both sides of the steps. If we dug holes, Tal and I were concerned that we might bust the pipes underground. Also, we were concerned that a bush's roots might grow around the sprinkler pipes and cause problems in the coming years. Putting a flowering tree or bush in a container was a much safer option.
In the coming weeks, Tal and I plan to focus on the small flower bed to the right of the front steps. We intend to lay landscape fabric, plant 2-3 bushes, and put down some mulch. Stay tuned!
