Day Trippin'

During our beach vacation, we took a fun day trip to Fort Fisher and Southport:

From Wrightsville Beach, we drove an hour to Fort Fisher:

At Fort Fisher, we boarded the ferry to Southport:

After a 30-minute ferry ride, we arrived in Southport, 

which is a quaint coastal town:

In Southport, we ate lunch at the Fishy Fishy Cafe:

We ate outside and had beautiful water views of the marshes:

Savannah enjoyed walking on the docks 

while we waited for our food to arrive:

The chicken salad, burger, and fish tacos that we had for lunch were delicious!

After lunch, we walked around Southport and browsed a few stores, 

including The Christmas House below: 

While Grandma Judy and I walked around The Christmas House, 

Savannah and Duane played checkers outside on the porch:

On our drive back to Wrightsville Beach, we enjoyed passing 

the colorful beach houses in Kure Beach:

Our six-hour road trip was lots of fun!
