Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

Hadley has been learning how to dress herself. She was so proud when she put on her pants...and she didn't care that her pants were on inside out:

Tal and Hadley snuggled in our bonus room before bedtime:

I found this selfie of Hadley on my phone:

Hadley loved drawing on the paper tablecloth when our family ate dinner at Macaroni Grill:

On March 1, Savannah participated in our school's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Parade to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss's birthday. During the parade, Savannah wore the paper bag vest that she created based on Dr. Seuss's book Green Eggs and Ham:

Savannah decorated the front of her vest with green eggs and ham and attached an empty toilet paper roll as her recycled item (which was one of the requirements for her project):

On the back of her vest, Savannah included some other project requirements: a noise maker (the aluminum foil) and a movable part (all of her green eggs moved):

Savannah enjoyed playing Zingo during an afterschool playdate with her friends Gabby and Alexa:

Savannah read aloud books to Hadley at bedtime:

At 7:00 A.M. on Saturday morning, I woke up to Savannah and Hadley standing next to my side of  the bed and waiting for me to get up:

In our downstairs hallway, our family has a wooden growth ruler, where we have recorded the girls' heights over the years. After church today, Savannah and Hadley asked me to measure them and to see if they had grown recently:

Hadley, who will be 2.5 years old next month, is around 3 feet tall:

Savannah (8) is 4 feet, 4 inches tall:

It has been 4 years since Tal made a career change!  For 15 years, Tal worked for the state of NC (and went 10 years without a pay raise). In 2011-2012, Tal paid $20,000 cash, so he could go back to school and become certified to work in information technology. Tal took 9 computer classes and passed 9 certification exams. In March 2013, Tal started working as a network engineer with his current employer. At the time, it was a risky career move and financial investment. However, over the last four years, Tal has doubled his salary and received excellent performance reviews from his supervisors. We are thankful that Tal's hard work and perseverance paid off and that he is much happier in his new career!
