Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

While Tal got his haircut, the girls and I went to the pet store next door. Savannah and Hadley enjoyed looking at the fish, birds, and spiders, but the cats were their favorite:

After Tal's haircut, our family played at the park:

A beautiful painting by Savannah:

Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday at a Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood. Our family enjoyed eating $1 tacos, as well as free chips and salsa:

After eating dinner at the Mexican restaurant, our family drove across town to a new (to us) ice cream place that serves homemade ice cream from local, grass-fed cows:

The girls ate chocolate, while Tal got the Raleigh Rocky Road and I got the Salted Caramel Fudge:

Last Thursday morning, I discovered that Savannah had gone through a growth spurt when two pairs of shorts didn't fit and her tennis shoes were too small. Savannah asked me to measure her to see how much she'd grown:

Our growth chart is beautifully imperfect, but you can see Savannah has grown about 2 inches in the the last 16 months. She's around 4 feet 5 inches tall:

After work/school on Thursday, our family went to see the Band of Oz in an outdoor concert.

A local shopping area has FREE beach music concerts every Thursday from 6-9 PM from April-August:

We set-up our chairs an hour before the show. The concert area was surrounded by shops and restaurants, so we got Chick-fil-a for dinner and ate our food while we waited for the show to start:

Before the show, Hadley and Savannah played a game and won free nail polish!

During the show, the girls and I went to Ben and Jerry's and got brownie batter ice cream cones for dessert:

During the show, Savannah met and played with another girl named Savannah. Both girls looked similar with freckles and strawberry blonde hair. Savannah's dad played the guitar with the Band of Oz:

I teach at Savannah's school. Savannah and I are are blessed to have the same lunch time (11:00-11:30) again this year, so I eat lunch in the cafeteria with Savannah once a week:

I thought Hadley looked adorable in her braided pigtails (which she calls "tails"):

Our family loved having Grandma Barbara and cousin Harper stay with us this weekend. On Friday night, we ate dinner downtown at one of our favorite Italian restaurants. The girls loved playing with pizza dough, while we waited for our food to arrive:

Last night Hadley tripped in our hallway and cut her forehead on a sharp corner:

I wasn't sure if Hadley needed stitches, but I took her to urgent care just to be safe because I didn't want the cut to leave a scar on her face. I made the right decision. Hadley's cut was deeper than we thought and Hadley needed stitches. The nurse put some numbing cream on a piece of gauze and taped it to Hadley's forehead. The nurse gave Hadley a popsicle to eat while we waited 15 minutes for the numbing to take effect.

Hadley got three stitches. It was a traumatic experience, but it had to be done. Our baby girl screamed and flailed while the doctor sewed her up. I held down Hadley's arms and legs, while nurse held her face. We will go back to urgent care on Thursday and get the stitches removed. Hopefully, Hadley won't have a scar!

Below is the beautiful picture that Tal and Savannah colored for Hadley while we were at urgent care last night:
