Everyday Moments

Life...unedited.
These random iPhone photos are dark, blurry, and untouched,
but they capture everyday moments from the last couple weeks.

Savannah brought her American Girl doll to school a couple days last week. During the school day, her doll sat in Savannah's chair in my library office:

Hadley loves to dress herself. She gets bonus points for creativity and mixing patterns!

Last Monday, school closed three hours early due to snow. I waited in line at Walmart to pick-up our groceries. Since we started using Walmart's grocery pickup service a year ago, our family has been saving $300 a month on groceries/toiletries/household items. We used to spend $800 a month($200 a week), and now we consistently spend $500 a month ($125 a week) at Walmart. We buy fewer impulse items since we order our groceries online:

The girls loved playing in the snow with their neighborhood friends Liza and Sky:

Savannah asked me to braid her hair at bedtime (so she would have wavy hair the next morning). I thought Savannah looked like Anna from Frozen with her braided hair:

We booked our family vacation to Aruba!

In art class, the art teacher named Savannah the star student because she completed the class art project without any assistance. We're so proud of Savannah!

Savannah baked some yummy brownies all by herself! She did a good job preheating the oven, reading the recipe, using fractions to measure ingredients, and setting the oven timer:

Savannah finished chapter book #10! She reads for 20 minutes each day. Most days, Savannah reads 3-4 chapters in her chapter book. About 2-3 days a week, though, Savannah prefers to read informational books, biographies, picture books, or graphic novels. She also enjoys reading electronic books on Epic or Big Universe on her iPad.

Five years ago this month, Tal made a career change and started working in network operations with his current employer. As a 5-year anniversary gift, Tal's employer gave him this 22-piece knife set:

Before church this morning, Savannah and I made turkey sloppy joes and egg casserole for our meals this week. In the picture below, Savannah measured the milk for the egg casserole:

This afternoon our family went to the kids carnival that was set-up in the Home Depot parking lot that's one mile from our house. The girls enjoyed going on three rides each:

Hadley: "It was so fun!"

After the kids carnival, we sat outside and enjoyed some ice cream at Dairy Queen. Although it was a little chilly, it was a beautiful day to spend time outside as a family!
